Located in the Lower Rio Grande Valley, at the southern tip of Texas, Mission retains all the charm of small town southern hospitality while providing all the amenities of a large city. It is easily accessible from all parts of Texas, the US, Canada, and Mexico. Ours is a unique city-proud of its history and progressive in its vision. Our city is clean, green, and vibrant. Recreational activities abound-there are always places to go, sites to see, and things to do.

Drive ten minutes from Mission and you’re in Reynosa across the International Bridge in Hidalgo. There you can find bargains in the colorful marketplace, purchase exquisite silver jewelry, Mexican artifacts, and clothing in downtown shops, and enjoy elegant cuisine in fine restaurants with impeccable service . If you have the time and the inclination, a local travel agency can help you plan a longer trip to Monterrey and Mexico City, both very cosmopolitan cities with many historical sites and some breathtaking scenery. The sites and sounds will make any Mexico excursion memorable!

Drive an hour and you’re crossing the causeway to South Padre Island. Take a dip in the gulf, pick up shells along the beach, dine on tasty seafood at any of a multitude of good restaurants, or try your hand at fishing. It’s all great fun! While you’re there, drop by the lighthouse in Port Isabel and climb to the top (if you’re in good shape) for a panoramic view of Laguna Madre and South Padre Island.
